Jonathan Bittner

Co-Founder/Director of Operations

Jonathan Bittner served in the US Army for close to nine years. During his time in the military, he deployed to Afghanistan in 2007 through 2008 where he protected the battalion Chaplain and at times provided mental health care to wounded and grieving soldiers, airmen, sailors, and marines.

After being medically retired from the Army in 2013, Jonathan spent several years giving back to veterans in various roles such as crisis hotline operator, director of a peer support non-profit, and has been actively involved in the VFW in various different positions with in the state.

Jonathan wanted to pursue a career in mental health so in 2017 he decided to go back to school to finish a bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Immaculata University. In 2019 after completing his degree at Immaculata, he attended Chestnut Hill College where he completed a master’s degree in clinical and counseling Psychology with a trauma certification. Jonathan is currently working on is PsyD at Immaculata University and is a mental health therapist at a group practice that he founded. Jonathan specializes in trauma and works primarily with veterans, first responders, and their families.

Jonathan is also working for the Penn Trauma Violence Recovery Program as part of his doctoral practicum and works alongside of the Penn Trauma Surgery Team. Their focus is working with gunshot victims from Philadelphia. He also sits on the Community Advisory Board for UPenn for their PTSD, TBI, and Suicide Prevention Programs.
