Mark Gindhart

Mark has spent 45 years in the Emergency Services, starting as a volunteer with his local fire department and ambulance squad. He first began working as an EMT for Second Alarmer's Rescue Squad in Willow Grove, Pa.
He moved from Second Alarmer's to the U.S. Navy Fire Department at the Naval Air Development center in Warminster, Pa. as a civilian Fire Fighter/EMT. While at NADC Mark worked part time for Med-Tex Services providing medical and rescue services to industry, mostly at the Sunoco oil refinery in Philadelphia.
When military bases began to be closed as a result of the fall of the USSR, he moved to Cheltenham Township in Montgomery County Pa as an EMT, then became a Paramedic in 1995. As a Paramedic Mark also worked part time for Second Alarmer's, Montgomery Hospital Paramedics in Norristown, Pa., and Plymouth Community Ambulance in Plymouth Township, Pa. In 2001 Mark became a Police Officer with Cheltenham Township where he remained for 20 years until his retirement in 2021.
Mark has been married for 37 years and has two children. His daughter is a certified teacher, and his son is an EMT pursing a degree in Emergency Management. His son served in the Army as a Combat Medic with the 101st Airborne in Iraq where he distinguished himself by earning a Commendation with Valor for his actions under fire, saving several lives.
Mark has been volunteering with Honor and Courage for almost 20 years.
